2024 Abstracts and poster session

Introduction

Poster presentations for the 15th annual SCAD meeting will be selected from submitted abstracts. There will be two poster categories, clinical (case reports, interdisciplinary dentistry) and research (clinical, laboratory, educational, informatics), involving color and appearance in dentistry.

We urge you to submit an abstract for consideration for poster presentation at SCAD 2024 (October 18-19, 2024, Novotel Hotel, Miami, FL).

Important Dates

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 5, 2024 (11:59 pm CST). Please be sure to use a valid, long-term E-mail address when submitting your abstract as this E-mail address will be used for all further communications from SCAD.

Provisional Acceptance/Rejection Notification: September 8, 2024 (11:59 pm CST).

All presenters are required to pre-register by September 15, 2024 (11:59 pm CST). Failure to pre-register will result in your abstract being withdrawn from the meeting.

SCAD annual meeting October 18-19, 2024

Instructions

The word limit for abstracts is 300 words. Presentation titles, names of authors, and authors' affiliations are not included in the 300-word limit.

Each abstract must contain a brief statement of the objectives of the investigation, the methods used, the important results including data summaries and, where appropriate, statistics, the conclusion of the work.

Research abstracts should include the following headings: "Objectives", "Methods", "Results", and "Conclusion".

Clinical abstracts (techniques/case reports) should include the following headings: "Objectives", "Clinical Consideration", and "Conclusions".

In addition, all drugs and materials studied must be identified. Also, external funding must be specified by listing the name of supporting company or agency and, if appropriate, the grant number in the body of the abstract.

Agreement

Persons submitting an abstract for the General Session are doing so with the understanding that they must abide by the following policies:

  • You may only present one abstract
  • You may appear as a co-author on an unlimited number of abstracts
  • Presenters do not have to be a member of SCAD
  • You may not present previously published or presented work
  • The official language of the meeting and all communications will be in English
