Application Process: Applicants will have to duplicate one natural tooth based on photos posted here. It can be fabricated on a die or as a solid replica (root is optional). Applicants are allowed to use any material and technique of their choice. The Award Committee will review the submissions and send acceptance/rejection notice to all applicants. Applicants are required to submit an application following the instructions provided here. Submissions will be judged based on overall esthetics, color and appearance, and detail reproduction.

Domestic applicants need to email pictures of their work (up to 4 MB) to Chair of the Awards Committee, Mr. Aki Yoshida (akiyoshida@scadent.org) by Aug 25, 2020. Authors of accepted submissions in domestic category must preregister and attend the annual meeting in order to be eligible for awards. The 1st place winner will receive a $1,000 prize, SCAD certificate, complimentary registration for SCAD 2021. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive SCAD certificate and a three-day complimentary visit and hands-on training at VITA, Bad Säckingen, Germany.

International applicants are allowed to compete without attending the meeting due to travel costs and time commitment. They need to mail their application and tooth replication (no photos) to:
VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH & Co. KG (Attn. Mrs. Dilan Cosar)
Schulhausstr. 34, D-79713 Bad Saeckingen, Germany

Deadline is July 10, 2020. VITA will cover the winner’s airfare and hotel for SCAD 2020, while SCAD will give them a diploma and a complimentary registration for SCAD 2021.
